Magazine Layout Project (2018)
This magazine layout project challenges students’ visual problem-solving skills. They must create a magazine brand, understand its potential readership, determine means of achieving that brand’s visual aspirations in order to attract those readers, choose articles that might be appropriate to include as content (focusing on a single key story), and then create a cover, opening spread, and jump spread. The goal is to achieve a cohesive design for the story layout that not only visually expresses the ideas found in the content, but also speaks to the brand’s identity.
